Welcome to MissIsGoode - previously know as Life and Times of a Student.

I'm your host Issy, 22. I'm originally from Cornwall, currently residing in Nottinghamshire. I'm a recent graduate with a degree from Keele University in English and American Literature.

I started blogging in the summer of 2012 as I began to prepare for student life. I'd recently received my acceptance from Keele University and had spent my summer working hard to earn some pennies as well as thinking about my up and coming university adventure. Whilst reading anything and everything I could on the internet about student life, I began to notice that there were very few personal blogs focusing solely on the university experience. Now it's a pretty well populated field within the blogging community but at the time when I started, it seemed I was one of the few.

So when I started this blog, I aimed to share honest and personal experiences about student life and sometimes, maybe they were a little too honest. Towards the end of my first year, inspired by a fellow student blogger named Liv, whose blog you can view here, I started interviewing students from all over the country about their experience of first year. It's been a pretty long journey, a lot of which I didn't find the time or sometimes the motivation to blog about, but a few years later, and now a graduate, I'm still proudly sharing as much as I can about my experience of university.

I started this journey in my Southern home of Porthleven, Cornwall - which will always be my home - and after spending one year in student halls in Keele and the last two years of university in a cute little six bedroom house in Newcastle-under-Lyme, I now reside in Nottinghamshire with my partner and his family. We're on our way to saving for our own house, with the hopes of settling elsewhere someday soon.

Gone are my student days but I'll never forget them and therefore, I won't stop sharing my stories and my advice on this here blog. Student life was a bit of an adventure for me and wasn't what I expected at all in some ways but I hope as I share my tales people learn something from them.

  3. Hi :) I really love your blog! I'm also a student blogger - I talk about how I've struggled adapting to university life in the hopes that some people will find comfort if they relate to it. I'm only really just starting out but if you would like to give it a read, the link is http://auburnroe.wordpress.com. I'm trying to spread the word as much as I can because I know there are many people out there who also find it hard to adjust, especially when their student life is not necessarily what they expected. I'd love to help anyone who can relate to what I write about x

I always appreciate and love reading comments from you lovely lot, so comment away and don't forget to leave your links too! ♥
